Tour Plan

As you step off the plane in Juba, the vibrant capital of South Sudan, you'll be warmly greeted by your local guide. We'll transfer you to your chosen accommodations, ensuring a comfortable start to your adventure.

After settling into your hotel, we'll schedule a brief meeting to discuss your itinerary and address any questions. You'll also have the opportunity to exchange currency or withdraw funds from an ATM, ensuring a smooth transition into South Sudanese life.

As the sun begins to set, you can choose to relax at your hotel, explore the bustling city centre on a guided evening walk, or indulge in a delicious South Sudanese meal at a nearby restaurant.

After a leisurely breakfast, we'll embark on a scenic drive to the Dinka cattle camp. The journey takes approximately two hours, although the exact duration may vary depending on the location of the cattle camp and the movement of the herds in search of greener pastures.

Upon arrival, we'll set up our campsite and experience the warm hospitality of the Dinka people. Immerse yourself in the sounds of the cattle camp, the clanging of cow bells as the herds return home, and the vibrant atmosphere created by the welcoming smiles of the local community.

As the sun begins to set, witness the mesmerizing scene of thousands of cattle returning to their pegs. Observe the traditional practices of applying ash to their horns and bodies, a process that not only cleans the cattle but also provides a soothing massage.

After a day filled with cultural immersion, gather around the campfire under the starry African sky, you may even have the opportunity to witness traditional night dances performed by the Dinka people. As the night falls, relax in the tranquillity of the countryside, lulled by the soothing sounds of the mooing cows.

Rise before dawn and be captivated by the sounds of the cattle camp awakening. Hear the melodious tunes of local vocalists singing to their prized petty bulls, adorned with intricate decorations and bells.

Witness the bustling activity of the cattle camp as the day begins. Observe the care and attention given to the cattle, from stimulating them to dying their hair and washing them with cow urine. Be amazed by the sight of a pregnant cow delivering a calf, a truly cinematic moment.

At 10 AM, the cows are released for grazing, while the calves remain behind until they are old enough to join the herd. As the cows graze, take a moment to relax under the shade of the trees, watch traditional wrestling matches, or join the girls in gathering fruits.

After a fulfilling morning, return to the cattle camp for breakfast before departing for Bor Town. The journey takes less than an hour and a half, allowing you to rest and recharge before continuing your exploration.

Upon arrival in Bor Town, check into the Park Palace Hotel and enjoy a well-deserved rest. Our team will work on the necessary documentation to ensure a smooth experience in the town and the Sudd Wetlands.

Explore the vibrant town of Bor, visiting the local port, and markets, and perhaps even catching a traditional wrestling match.

After a day filled with activities, return to the hotel for dinner and a restful night's sleep.

Note: The itinerary includes a boat ride through the Sudd Swamps on Day 3, as previously mentioned. This activity offers the opportunity to witness diverse wildlife, including birds, crocodiles, and hippos, and to interact with local Dinka fishermen.

As your South Sudanese adventure comes to a close, enjoy a leisurely breakfast before we transfer you to Juba International Airport.
